9/12: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words (Astroturf Edition)

A lot has been said about Saturday’s right-wing march on Washington. Personally, though, I’m going to let the pictures speak for themselves.

First up are screenshots from the website that put together Saturday’s protest.  They show all of the right-wing groups who helped organize, bankroll and publicize the event.

As much as the right complains about being accused of astroturfing, they certainly don’t go to any length to hide the veritable who’s who of the conservative movement that assembled Saturday’s event:

For anyone counting, that’s 39 conservative groups who put together Saturday’s rally. And that’s not even mentioning Glenn Beck’s 912 project, which was also heavily involved in promoting the demonstration.

So much for 9/12 being a spontaneous grassroots uprising of regular everyday Americans, huh? Just like the April 15 teaparty protests and the August’s townhall campaign, 9/12 was just another example of well-organized well-financed right-wing astroturf masquerading as grassroots activism.
