Ted Stevens’ Dirty Money, Pt. IV: More Republicans Flee The Sinking Ship

In the past few days, several more Republicans have dumped donations from indicted Republican Senator Ted Stevens, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Kansas Senator Pat Roberts, who sits on the ethics committee that will be investigating Stevens.

Interestingly enough, John Cornyn–whose campaign is holding onto $5,000 from Ted Stevens–is Vice-Chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee.  Considering this massive conflict of interest, how can we expect an objective, comprehensive investigation into Stevens’ wrongdoing?

Republicans who have returned Ted Stevens’ dirty money: Dole (NC), Coleman (MN), Sununu (NH), Smith (OR), McCain (AZ), McConnell (KY), Collins (ME) and Roberts (KS).

Republicans who have kept Ted Stevens’ dirty money: Alexander (TN), Barasso (WY), Chambliss (GA), Cochran (MS), Cornyn (TX), Enzi (WY), Inhofe (OK), Johanns (NE), Sessions (AL), Wicker (MS) and the NRSC.
